Server management and configuration

Setup, configuration, management and migration of Linux and Windows servers, panels and mail.

  1. 01

    Linux Server Management

Maybe you just received a fresh VPS, or you run a server nobody has dared to update in years. With our Linux server management, configuration, updates and troubleshooting become our job, and every change is documented. We work with the common distributions, including Ubuntu, Debian and AlmaLinux.

    • We bought a VPS and nobody is there to configure it.
    • The site throws 502 errors now and then and we do not know why.
  2. 02

    Windows Server & AD

When every employee uses a local account on their own PC, one departure turns into a hunt for passwords and files. An Active Directory setup lets you manage accounts, permissions and security policy from one place. We design and build new domains, or clean up and support the one you already have.

    • Every employee has a separate password on their own PC and nothing is managed centrally.
    • We have a shared folder where everyone can open everything.

    Hosting Control Panels

Installing a control panel takes one command. Getting the server ready to host real sites is the work that follows. Our cPanel configuration service covers security settings, email, DNS, PHP versions and backups, and we do the same for DirectAdmin, Plesk and CyberPanel.

    • We installed cPanel, but our site emails land in spam.
    • cPanel license costs went up and we are looking at DirectAdmin.

    Business Email Server

Messages landing in customers' spam folders, or a mailbox nobody can open after a colleague leaves, usually trace back to an incomplete mail server setup. A properly planned email server setup gives you mail on your company domain, on a server you own, configured so your messages get delivered. Depending on company size, we recommend Exchange, Zimbra or an open-source Postfix stack.

    • Our emails land in customers' Gmail spam folders.
    • Staff write to customers from personal email accounts.

    Site & Server Migration

For a small blog, moving to a new host takes minutes. For a store with a multi-gigabyte database, hundreds of mailboxes or dozens of sites on one server, one mistake means lost orders or lost email. We plan the website migration, test everything on the target server, and switch DNS only when the new server is ready.

    • Our current host is slow, but we are afraid to move the store.
    • We want to move from cPanel to DirectAdmin.
  6. 06

    Load Balancing & HA

A campaign goes live, traffic multiplies, and the site falls over in exactly that hour. With server load balancing, traffic is spread across several machines and the architecture is designed so that one failed server does not take the whole service down. We start the design from your real traffic numbers and your budget.

    • During sales the site slows down or returns 503 errors.
    • Everything runs on one server, and if it fails, work stops.

Choosing Linux and Windows server management services

Server management and configuration covers the work that takes a server from a bare install to reliably hosting your websites, email and business applications: the operating system, control panels, mail, migration from an old server and load distribution. The services in this category differ mainly by what the server is for.

If you run Ubuntu, Debian or AlmaLinux servers that need to stay patched, secure and maintainable, or you just received a fresh VPS, choose Linux Server Management. For an internal company network where users, permissions, shared folders and Group Policy should be managed centrally, choose Windows Server & AD. If the server hosts many sites or you resell hosting, Hosting Control Panels covers cPanel and DirectAdmin setup. If company mail lands in spam, Business Email Server sets up SPF, DKIM and DMARC properly. To move sites, databases and mailboxes to a new server or data center, choose Site & Server Migration, and if the site goes down at peak traffic, look at Load Balancing & HA.

Common situations: you bought a new server and don't know where to begin, your current hosting has become slow or expensive, the person who built the server has left, or a big marketing campaign is coming.

Server work connects to other categories. Before any public-facing server goes live, Server Hardening and Backup & Disaster Recovery from the Security category are worth reviewing. If you need several virtual machines on one host, see Server Virtualization under Network. Software teams can add Docker & Containers and CI/CD Pipelines from DevOps. For monthly upkeep after handover, an IT Support Contract is the usual route, and if you aren't sure what state your current server is in, start with a free audit.

A few lines on where things stand and what you want is enough. An engineer calls you back, not a sales rep.
